Tails: the upgrade ladder and what each one costs
Tails are bought with wins, and the price curve turns steep very quickly.
Tails are the upgrade track
There is no separate upgrade menu in the clips. Wins buy tails, tails make you faster, and faster clears stages that pay more wins.
Everything on this page was taken from public playthrough videos of the game, listed on our home page under Community clips. We have written down what the players did and what the game showed them. Where a number was read off a shop or a menu in a clip we say so; where we are inferring, we say that instead of dressing it up as fact.
The early rungs are cheap
The tutorial hands you a first tail at two wins. The next costs 15 wins. A green tail follows, then a pink tail at 100 wins. A player reaches a four-leaf clover tail at 22,000 wins.
Named tails visible in the clips include green, pink, red, coral, candy, cheetah, four-leaf clover and a multi-tailed one the player calls the ninetales.
Then the curve goes vertical
Later prices read off the same menu, in wins: 1.1 million, 2.5 million, 7 million, 16 million, 50 million, and 750 million.
That jump is the actual shape of the game. Past the first hour you are not buying the next tail with the stage you just cleared; you are rebirthing for multipliers so that a stage pays a hundred times what it used to.
What we have not checked
The full ordered list of tails, the exact speed each one adds, and whether any tail is limited to a particular world. We have only the rungs that happened to be on screen in the clips we watched, so treat the list above as a sample of the ladder rather than the whole of it.
